
MERCEDES-BENZ W 196 R STROMLINIENWAGEN TERJUAL LEBIH RM230 JUTA!
Pada Mei 2022, sebuah Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR ‘Uhlenhaut-Coupé berjaya dibida pada harga 135 juta euro (RM623 juta tukaran hari ini).
Tukul bidaan RM Sotheby sekali lagi mengesahkan sebuah Mercedes-Benz dijual pada harga luar biasa.
Kali ini Mercedes-Benz W 196 R Stromlinienwagen.

Bidaan yang berlangsung pada 1 Februari di Muzium Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart, Jerman menyaksikan unit dengan nombor casis 00009/54 dibuka pada harga 20 juta euro (RM92,317,518).
Sesi bidaan menarik minat pengumpul dari serata dunia dengan perlawanan harga melalui telefon dan secara perseorangan sebelum tukul diketuk pada harga 46,500,000.00 (RM214,637,539).
Harga akhir dengan bayaran premium pembeli berjumlah 51,155,000 euro atau bersamaan RM236,123,845!
Bilik yang sama juga tempat berlangsung bidaan Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR ‘Uhlenhaut-Coupé dan menjadikannya kereta paling bernilai tinggi dijual pada acara bidaan.
Jualan terbaru ini sekali lagi membuktikan nilai Mercedes-Benz di dalam pasaran kereta pengumpul.
Unit yang dibida asalnya diderma kepada Muzium Indianapolis Motor Speedway oleh Daimler-Benz AG pada 1965.

Hasil dari bidaan akan digunakan untuk meningkatkan dana bagi kelangsungan operasi dan membiayai program baik pulih serta penambahan koleksi muzium.
Harga yang dibayar untuk Silver Arrow W 196 R juga meletakkannya sebagai kereta lumba Grand Prix paling mahal di acara bidaan setakat ini.
Dari segi sejarah, W 196 R dibangunkan bagi memenuhi peraturan enjin baharu dengan sesaran sehingga 2.5 liter yang diperkenal pada 1954.

Kereta ini membuktikan kejaguhannya dengan dipandu Juan Manuel Fangio dan Stirling Moss.
Pada 1955 Juan Manuel Fangio memenangi Kejuaraan Pemandu secara mutlak bersama W 196 R.
Kejuaraan Pemandu sekali lagi dimenangi pelumba Mercedes-Benz iaitu Lewis Hamilton pada 2014.

W 196 R digerakkan enjin M 196 2.5 liter lapan silinder sebaris yang menghasilkan 257 kuasa kuda (hp) sebelum ditingkatkan kepada kuasa akhir 290 hp dalam tempoh dua musim.
Enjin dipadan bersama kotak gear lima kelajuan dengan cekam kering cakera tunggal dan pembeza gelinciran terhad untuk cengkaman yang cemerlang.

Ciri utama pada enjin seperti perkakasan perlumbaan pencucuhan berkembar, pelinciran takungan kering dan menariknya sistem injap gear desmodromic berbanding spring injap biasa.
Turut dilengkapi sistem pancitan bahan api terus tekanan tekanan tinggi dari Bosch.
